What data we collect
We collect only what is needed to provide the service:
- Email address (to send edit links and purchase confirmations)
- Child's first name and birthday date
- Clothing and shoe sizes (if you choose to share them)
- Party date (optional)
- A location for gift suggestions (optional, separate from the party) — used to find nearby experiences (like swimming lessons or workshops) worth suggesting as gifts, based on where your family wants those experiences to happen, not where the party is. If you share a city or use “current location,” we store the city name and, if provided, GPS coordinates and a Google Place ID.
- A guest's chosen display name, if they leave one when reserving a gift idea (optional, provided by the guest, not you)
- IP address (collected by Vercel for hosting; we do not use it for profiling)
Why we collect it
To provide the service, send you edit links, send purchase confirmation emails, and keep your page working. We do not use your data for advertising, and we never sell or share it with third parties for marketing.
Third-party services
We use the following services to run insteado.gifts:
- Supabase: Data storage (EU region)
- Resend: Email delivery
- Stripe: Payment processing
- Google Places API: We send your page's location (city, and GPS coordinates if provided) to Google to find and suggest nearby activities. This happens automatically in the background based on the location you provide, not just when you explicitly ask.

Data retention
Your page and its data are retained whether your page is live or deactivated — deactivating only hides it from guests. To have your data permanently deleted, contact us (see “Your rights” below). Purchase records are retained for legal and tax requirements.

No advertising, no profiling
We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not build profiles for marketing purposes.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies for session management and Stripe checkout. If you consent, we may use Google Analytics cookies to understand how people use the site. You can change your preference at any time.
